Troop 182 Scoutmaster Glenn Sullivan was one of several Holden area residents who were awarded a “Good Neighbor” award on March 22. For those of you who know Glenn, you know that he has been a long time Scout leader in Holden, both as a prior Cubmaster for Pack 46 and currently as the Troop 182 Scoutmaster. But Glenn’s neighborly services go all the way back to his youth as a Scout in Holden.
His adventurous spirit led him to a World Jamboree in Australia when he was 14 years old. The lessons that he learned through that experience were shared with his peers, and let to his youth leadership role nearly 4 years later when he and other Troop members went to the World Jamboree in South Korea. Through these adventures and through attaining the Eagle rank, he built the knowledge, confidence and leadership skills that helped develop others in his Troop.
Glenn’s grandfather reminded him at his Eagle Court of Honor that he had an obligation to give back to his community, and Glenn has followed that advise ever since. This award from Holden town leaders recognizes the strong positive impact that Glenn has had on the Holden Boy Scouts and to the community at large.
When you see Glenn, please congratulate him on becoming a 2018 Holden Good Neighbor!
