On Saturday, June 9th the Worcester Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting held a dinner and ceremony to honor six Catholic Scouters from the Central Mass. Council and Mayflower Council for their contributions on behalf of Catholic Scouting in our area.
The event, held at the parish center of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Auburn, was attended by Bishop Robert J. McManus of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester along with nearly fifty Scouters, family members, friends and members of the community. The awards, conferred by DCCS Chairman John K. Atlas on behalf of the Committee, and blessed by the Bishop upon presentation, included the following recipients;
- Fr. James Mazzone – St. George emblem
- Jamie Pitney – St. George emblem
- Deacon William White – St. George emblem
- Stephen Lavoie – Bronze Pelican emblem
- Timothy Daly – Bronze Pelican emblem
- Lawrence Mayone – Bronze Pelican emblem
