 We are looking for volunteers of all ages and abilities
to help prepare the Camp for the Summer!

Beaver Days are work days held throughout the year to help with needed projects at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation.

We need your help to get camp open! Looking for a way to give back to camp? Want to help improve camp? Come out to one of our Spring Beaver Days!

April 29th – Beaver Day!

All are welcome! One of two Beaver Days held in the Spring each year! You can register as a Troop/Pack or individually! Campsites are free for all of those who volunteer. Start time is 8:30 with lunch included!

May 20th – Beaver Day AND Open House

This Saturday is a big weekend for TVSR! We have a Webelos Under the Stars open house on the West Camp. We have our Scoutmaster Meeting and SPL Camp Orientation on the East Side! To top it off we have a morning of service planned. Start time is 8:30 with lunch included!

Tentative Schedule for the day:

  • 8:30 am Arrival at Benedict Field, Coffee and Water available. (Day visitors park in Jamboree Field)
  • 8:45am Welcome and assignments.
  • Noon  Lunch at Pine Point
  • 1:00-3:30pm Afternoon Projects (April 29 only)
  • 4:00 pm All camp materials and tools returned to Benedict Field

  • Exterior Painting

Arrow of Light Ring (NEW Webelos Camp fire ring!)

Boonesville Plain

  • Landscaping
  • Planting
  • Spread mulch

Want to improve your own campsite? We’ve got projects in every site. Help get your campsite ready for summer camp! We’d be happy to put you to work on platform repair, campfire ring repair, and spreading mulch in campsites.

Tools

Have a leaf blower? Hand tools? Gloves? Bring them with you! We have a lot of clean up and you might prefer to use your favorite leaf blower over our old rakes. We need your help to get camp ready!

 

Please Bring:

  • Work clothes
  • Boots or tennis shoes (no open toed shoes)
  • Work gloves
  • Any personal tools you may find useful

Weekend Camping

Weekend camping for units is provided free of charge for units who volunteer, must be reserved ahead of time! Contact the Council Service Center to reserve a campsite.

Follow up

Your time at camp counts as service hours for your unit! Don’t forget to log your service hours!

Quinsigamond Roundtables take place the 1st Monday of every month except for Mondays that fall on a holiday!

Roundtables are monthly leader’s meetings for all adult volunteers in your district. You can get help with ideas and trainings! It’s a great place to share ideas. Your district has a team of volunteers called the District Committee which helps develop quality district-wide programs in which boys can participate. Your district also has a team of volunteers called the Commissioner staff. They are our “service team.” They check on the health of your unit and are a communications link between your unit and the Scouting organization.

Congratulations to our own Marc Millette, Michele Piselli, Scott Despres, and Frank Laliberte!

The Worcester Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting will be honoring outstanding Boy Scout and Girl Scout of America Adult leaders with a religious emblem for their exemplary service at an awards dinner with Bishop McManus on June 2 nd . These recipients were nominated by their peers based on service to youth, advancement of Catholic Scouting, approved by their pastor and voted upon by the committee. Several different types of awards will be bestowed.

The Scout/Scouter Memorial Service is held each year to honor the memory of Ronald E. Walker and to recognize all recently departed members of the Mohegan Council Scouting community.

All units from Mohegan Council are invited to attend with a color guard.

Please contact the Council Office by May 19, 2017 with the names of Scouts and Scouters who have passed away since last year’s Memorial Service.
